Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2025

Nightingale is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws.

1What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and an encrypted (hashed) password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google. When you use the translation features, your translation history is stored in your account. We do not use cookies for analytics or tracking.

2Why We Collect It

We process your data to provide the translation service, maintain your account, and save your preferences and history. The legal basis under GDPR is contractual necessity (Article 6(1)(b)) — we need this data to deliver the service you signed up for.

3Who Has Access

Your data is stored on secure, hosted infrastructure. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Our hosting and infrastructure providers process data on our behalf under appropriate data-processing agreements.

4Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics service. It does not collect personal data, does not use cookies, and does not track individual users. No consent banner is required.

5Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can delete your entire account and all associated data from the Settings panel in the app. For any other privacy requests, contact us at the address below.

6Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data — including your email, name, translation history, and preferences — is permanently removed from our systems.
